Since 2003, she has designed an impressive 65 fabric collections for Moda, collaborating with her sister Polly Minick on over 40 of these lines. Minick & Simpson fabric collections tend to draw inspiration from antique textiles, and the Grand Haven line is a testament to this tradition. Laurie explains, “The red, white, and blue collections are light, happy, and summery— and summer makes me think of beaches and cottages,” says Laurie. “I’m reminded of all the great beach towns here in Michigan—many of the collections have Michigan place names.
