Data Assistant

EE Schenck Company, an internationally recognized leader in high quality fabrics and notions for the past century, is seeking a full-time Data Assistant to help manage product SKU data across our ERP and website.

As Data Assistant, you will assist with processing incoming and existing product data for fabric and notions SKUs on our website and ERP system. As part of our Data Team, you will work closely with our Web/Graphics teams to ensure product data is clear and correct for customers. You also will work with our Purchasing/Inventory teams to make sure that item information is up to date to facilitate efficient ordering, receiving, and manufacturing.

In this role, you will:

  • Create, enter and maintain stock keeping units (SKUs); adding and updating general descriptions and product information including pricing, put-ups, delivery dates, product images, and other information appearing on our website
  • Monitor the data team email inbox for item updates and issues and respond in a timely manner to ensure other teams can continue with their workflows
  • Answer questions and assist the warehouse and office staff, including customer service, with requests related to SKU information and how products appear on our website.
  • Communicate with vendors and in-house fabric and notions buyers to flag and resolve missing data, images, and descriptions.
  • Assist with maintenance of other company data including customer pricing, promotions, and report building/updating.
  • Proactively execute regular audits of data for accuracy and omissions.
  • Prepare and update support documentation related to data entry processes and maintenance.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to efficiently update and manipulate data sources as part of the SKU set-up and maintenance process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work with large data sets with bulk and automated processes.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on levels of importance.
  • Ability to concentrate on detailed work in an office environment.
  • Computer and MS Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • One to three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Familiarity with Acumatica or other ERP systems.
  • Previous experience working with and understanding of product SKUs.
  • Familiarity with fabric and notions.

This position has a regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 7:30 – 4:30. Some overtime may be required, particularly leading up to and during EE Schenck’s shopping events (online and in-warehouse) but is not frequent.
